June event marks the first professional tennis tournament at the Sea Colony Tennis Center. Bethany Beach, DE, January 28, 2011 - Sea Colony will host its first professional tennis tournament - The ResortQuest Pro Women’s Open at Sea Colony - from June 11-19, 2011, on the clay courts at the Sea Colony Tennis Center, located south of Bethany Beach, Delaware.
Sponsored by ResortQuest, which specializes in Sea Colony vacation rentals and Sea Colony homes for sale, and the United States Tennis Association, the singles and doubles tournament is expected to draw nationally - and internationally-ranked women tennis players seeking to improve their world rankings and claim their share of $10,000 in prize money. More than 60 women will compete for a spot in the tournament’s 32-player draw. Qualifying matches will be held June 11-13, with the main draw beginning on Tuesday, June 14. Doubles play also starts on June 14. Admission to the tournament is free.
